\"\"<\/a>Damals war Wasten in der Banger-Racing-Szene aktiv und immer f\u00fcr Freunde der gepflegten Blechverformung auf der Suche nach verschrottbarem Material, fuhr aber auch sehr gerne Grannys auf der Stra\u00dfe. Komfortabler konnte man damals einfach nicht reisen! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Anfang 1997 rief ihn ein Mitarbeiter der Autoverwertung Kannacher an, er h\u00e4tte einen 84er Granada MK3 2,8i Ghia mit originalem Vinyldach. Einen solchen sollte es nach seinem Wissenstand gar nicht geben. Also Anh\u00e4nger ans Auto und ab nach St. Hubert. Dort stand das traurige Etwas: Motor- und Getriebeschaden, Karosse sehr knusprig, Innenausstattung tot. Au\u00dfer ZV, Schiebedach und E-Hebern keine Extras, aber ein augenscheinlich originales Vinyldach. 250,- Mark sp\u00e4ter war es Seiner.<\/p>\n

Ein paar Tage sp\u00e4ter telefonierte er mit Ford in K\u00f6ln. Von dort kam die Aussage, da\u00df es den MK3 (Bj. `81 – `85) nie mit Vinyldach gegeben h\u00e4tte, Wasten solle aber mal den Bauzettel unter dem Teppich suchen und durchfaxen. Gesagt – getan! Sp\u00e4ter rief ihn der Ford-Mitarbeiter wieder an und wollte ihm den Wagen ungesehen abkaufen – f\u00fcr einen recht heftigen 4-stelligen Kurs!<\/p>\n

Zu diesem Zeitpunkt hatte Wasten Blut geleckt! Nach langer Diskussion hatte er dem Menschen verst\u00e4ndlich gemacht, da\u00df er den Wagen nicht abgeben werde! Daraufhin erfuhr er, da\u00df wohl nur 5 Fahrzeuge ab Werk mit der Dachbespannung ausgeliefert wurden und damit eine absolute Rarit\u00e4t erstanden hatte. Da stand f\u00fcr ihn fest: Das Auto muss er erhalten, wenn dann aber mit einem pers\u00f6nlichen Touch! Ein geplantes 560 SEC-Projekt wurde indes gestrichen, obwohl er daf\u00fcr schon 2 Unfallwagen gekauft hatte.<\/p>\n

Der Granada wurde f\u00fcr eine Bestandsaufnahme zerlegt und der Restaurationsumbau begann. Die eintragungstechnisch relevanten Sachen wurden mit dem T\u00dcV gekl\u00e4rt, Teile wurden angefertigt oder besorgt, Bleche eingeschweisst, Radl\u00e4ufe gedengelt um die R\u00e4der unterzubringen, Motor und Getriebe repariert, sowie alle m\u00f6glichen Extras montiert! Zwischenzeitlich wurden 7 weitere Granadas geschlachtet, um an Teile zu kommen, ein Wagen wurde nur wegen der linken Frontspoilerh\u00e4lfte gekauft, weil diese ansonsten nicht mehr zu beschaffen war!\u00a0 Auf den Tag genau 5 Monate und 15000,- DM sp\u00e4ter war der Granny so, wie er ihn haben wollte: tief, breit und geil! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

In der Umbauzeit hatte er viel Hilfe von Freunden, zeitweise waren bis zu 7 Leute gleichzeitig am Auto am werkeln, ohne diese w\u00e4re der Wagen in so kurzer Zeit sicher nicht fertig geworden.\u00a02 Jahre wurde der Wagen dann im Alltag bewegt um dann wiederum 2 Jahre unber\u00fchrt in der Garage zu verbringen. Seit 2001 f\u00e4hrt Wasten ihn nur noch zu besonderen Anl\u00e4ssen auf seiner roten Nummer!<\/p>\n

…und er macht noch genau so viel Spa\u00df. wie am ersten Tag \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
