Dazu hat man auf \u00c4u\u00dferlichkeiten wie einer sch\u00f6nen Lackierung keinen Wert gelegt. Es z\u00e4hlt was die Fuhre nach vorne bringt. Erst sp\u00e4ter wurden diese Umbauten zum Kult f\u00fcr den richtigen Rodder!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Pflichtprogramm war das Verbessern der Aerodynamik. So wurden D\u00e4cher gechoppt, also A-, B- und C-S\u00e4ule gek\u00fcrzt und dann das Dach niedriger wieder aufgesetzt und die Karrosserien gechannelt. Dabei nahm man einen ganzen Streifen unterhalb rundum aus dem Blech um die Windangriffsfl\u00e4che zu verkleinern. Unn\u00fctzer &#8222;Zierrat&#8220; wie Kotfl\u00fcgel, Motorhauben und T\u00fcrgriffe verschwanden meist ganz (bobbing).<\/p>\n<p>Aber auch der Leiterrahmen der Rods wurde nicht verschont. Man entfernte das H\u00e4uschen und setzte ein &#8222;Z&#8220; in den hinteren Teil des Rahmens. Damit kam die ganze Karrosse dem Asphalt um einiges n\u00e4her. Die Vorderachsen wanderte vor den Rahmen um auch hier die erforderliche Tiefe zu realisieren.<\/p>\n<p>Alles passierte um am Wochenende sich mit anderen Jugendlichen zu messen und auf der Quartermile auszufahren wer der Schnellste ist.
